Almoçageme (pronounced: Al-mu-sa-jè-mê) is a beautiful little village on the municipality of Sintra, Portugal.
The name is obviously Arab in origin – the Iberian peninsula is packed with Muslim toponyms that are a legacy of the five hundred years the Moors stayed over.
Well worth spending a day strolling the small streets of this very typical village and enjoy the wine from Colares and a day at Adraga Beach, just some 10kms away.
What a gorgeous place!
yes it is and there are so many other lovely villages in this region to visit too! I could spend weeks posting them :))
Thanks for dropping by!
